Our Work with Local Authorities
We deliver a wide range of work with Local Authorities across the country, this has included;
South Gloucestershire Council
Since January 2022, Dignifi have been South Gloucestershire Council trauma-informed partner, working to embed trauma-responsivity across their different services. To date Dignifi have trained 872 staff members in a range of different sessions and. As part of this partnership Dignifi have also carried out over 100 days of consultancy to support the people’s department on their Journey towards Trauma Informed Practice.
Bristol City Council
Since March 2023, Dignifi has worked closely with managers and leaders at Bristol City Council to establish a solid trauma-informed foundation. As part of this work an extensive training and awareness raising programme was mobilised reaching around 1500 professionals working across Bristol. As part of this contract, we also delivered over 200 days of support in different departments across the council and more widely with partners. We worked alongside BCC to design and deliver a bespoke workplan that supported their journey towards becoming a trauma informed city. This included a varied training plan, work on policy and practice and support to develop internal training to name a few.
Central Bedfordshire Council
Early 2024, Dignifi trained staff in how to deliver Dignifi’s Recovery programme to people accessing housing support who have complex support needs. This is a new partnership with the team in Central Bedfordshire where we will support them to help their customers to understand and move on from trauma. Providing consultancy support to Bedfordshire for the next 12 months will ensure that staff will become confident and competent as Dignifi Recovery Specialist Practitioners as part of their current role. The team are dealing with people who have histories of complexity and substance abuse, and we are piloting this new way of working with them to move on.
Manchester City Council
We have been working alongside Manchester City Council since January 2024 to develop a model that will spread awareness oof trauma amongst the Muslim community in Manchester. This will focus on addressing health inequality in the city, recognising that people from ethnic minority backgrounds were disproportionately affected by the impacts of the pandemic. This project will seek to reduce health inequalities by partnering with local organisations to consult with the community and develop culturally sensitive trauma awareness training that will be delivered to Muslims in Manchester.
